Zygospermella insignis
Joop van der Lee, 21-11-2013 16:52
Joop van der LeeFound on cow dung.

There are no major differences in microscopic characteristics only the spores from Z. insignis-1 tend to be smaller.

The main defference is the number and positioning of the hairs on the fruitbody.
Z. insignis-1 (photo's 1 thru 3) only has haris in the lower neck area, they are thick walled, short, not septated and not covered with small hyaline grains. It seems to have a larger fruitbody then Z. insignis-2.

Z. insignis-2 (photo's 4 thru 7) the whole neck is covered with longer thick walled hairs. They are covered with small grains and have one septa.

The last photo is a microscopic view of both species
