I have another request: if anyone collects Phragmiticola phragmitis (or the unpublished P. desertorum on wood), or has a preserved recent collection, I want to ask for sending it to Jason Karakehian for cultivation and sequencing. The genus is drought-tolerant, so apothecia can easily be revived.
This interesting genus resembles a Naemacyclus (Marthamycetaceae), but it has an amyloid apical ring and interestingly belongs in relationship with Durella and even Arachnopeziza.
The season for P. phragmticicola is May-June, so it might still be there, but it is rare.
Thanks, Zotto
