Re:Cosmospora on Diatrype bullata
of course it's beautiful and of course I would like to ahve a fresh specimen to culture. It could be C. episphaeria.

Re:Cosmospora on Diatrype bullata
Dear Gary,
This has been one of my mistakes for at least 25 years. I´ve never observed this very common species under the microscope, simply took it for N. episphaeria until Zotto made me aware that it´s something different. Meanwhile some further collections has been made in western France (...). However, please give me an address and you´ll get fresh material shortly.
My best wishes,
Guy

As usual, we really need to know the anamorph. So, ifyou are so kind as to mail fresh material that I can culture, my address -- for everybody who collects a Nectria! ii is:

Best regards,

Dear Gary, salut Alain,
Gary: Thanks for the address. I'll send some stuff this week.
Alain: Zotto told me about Christians successfully cultured anamorphe. Great job!
I lost this forum for a few months until today:(. Will read the thread now.. anyway, thanks for the info.

Re:Cosmospora on Diatrype bullata
Hi, Gary and Guy,
I studied this species and I cultivated it, its anamorph in culture is a Fusarium.
I'm publishing this species on Fungal Planet web site as you can see it in attached document.
I would like to know your opinion before submit the manuscript to Pedro Crous.

Re:Cosmospora on Diatrype bullata
nice sections and typical of cosmospora. The Fusarium looks a bit old. What is the medium? It looks to be rather fast growing and has more mycelium than I would expect for episphaeria. Episphaeria produces both micro and macroconidia. So, for Fungal Planet I would want to see an image of the Fusarium when younger (the swollen macroconidia with constrictions at the septa are atypical) and I would want to see conidiogenous cells. Also, scale bars on the images.
