How did you arrive at the name Orbilia oxyspora without consulting my homepage folder?
There you could have seen conidia. We consider O. fimicoloides a synonym, here the plate of Webster et al. attached.

I found this strange "thing" in a slide of what I though it could be Orbilia auricolor but I didn't pay attention of what it could be.
Then I read in a forum discussion that you pointed a difference between O. auricolor and O. sambuci based on the shape of the conidias and the resolving of the cells on the edge and I remembered then what I found previously.
I also mesured the spores a little bit longer (up to 14,5 µm) but these could be stretched.

Spore shape reminds me of O. aurantiorubra. but spore orientation looks wrong at first glance. Your section in water is good but more photos are needed to better see the spore bodies and perhaps SCBs in the excipulum. The yellowish apo is another species?

Both apo's were on the same wood but the micro comes from the paler one.

Herewith more photos of spores in water.
The apo's left from the host becomes yellowish.
The conidias seems to come from Diatrybe bullata...
I assume that it will be definitely O. aurantiorubra.

Yes, it is. The host is often Salix or Ulmus, do you know it here?
