... last week in the Eifel (Germany). It looks macroscopically like forms of the old "Nectria episphaeria" or like "N." cosmariospora on Inonotus. Does there exist a species that ist confined to or prefering Ganoderma as a substrate? I did not examine the specimen with the microscope by now and it is quite likely the perithecia are all old - but I would do it if there is a chance to say: yes, it is this species. Who can help?Best regards, Lothar

Re : "Nectria" on old Ganoderma applanatum
such old Ganoderma applanatum are often "infested" with Albertiniella polyporicola so that could also be the host of the nectrioid

Re : "Nectria" on old Ganoderma applanatum
Hello Thomas,
thanks for your proposal. But - I know Albetiniella polyporicola, and this was definitely not on the polypore and cannot be the host of the Nectria. It is growing on the Ganoderma.
Best regards, Lothar
