Mollisia-like discomycet
Gernot Friebes,

here I have another discomycet on very wet wood. The paraphyses (filled with strongly reflective VBs) and the form of the asci don't fit very well for Mollisia, however the brown, round-celled excipulum is very mollisia-like. I am not even sure about the genus!
Unfortunately I could not make a section because there was only one single apothecium which I needed for the normal checkings.
The spores were 9-11 x 2.5-3(3.2) µm, the paraphyses filled with strongly reflective VBs, the asci IKI bb with a mammiform apex, the spores were often almost triseriate, croziers + and with a pleurorhynch base. Hymenium KOH-, the excipulum got slightly greenish-greyish in KOH, as in Mollisia.
Best wishes and many thanks,
Gernot

Re:Mollisia-like discomycet
Like the glassy-haired one, this is worth to be documented in greater detail (no critics!). I have no idea of the genus. The apical ring (Calycina-Allophylaria type) excludes any helotioid taxon. Paraphysis guttulation excludes a mollisioid genus.
But as you say, you need to rediscover more apothecia....

Re:Mollisia-like discomycet
regrettably there is only one very small apothecium next to the one above, which I discovered now. Hopefully it will grow a little!
Which characters would you need? The only one I can give you now the is the ascus size of 65-73 x (9)11-15 µm.
Best wishes,
Gernot

Re:Mollisia-like discomycet
I think mainly the excipulum might help. Surely you will recognize this species again when you find it. But a section of the margin and also the base and the medulla could give some more ideas. Sometimes IKI gives a blue reaction to the apo base, or the medulla, etc.
