Fuscolachnum from Ledum
Nina Filippova, 17-07-2013 17:52
This specimen is species of Fuscolachnum, i guess. It is regularly encountered on felty lower side of Ledum palustre leaves (and never on leaves of other Ericaceous shrubs). I have not found this host been reported for this genus (but did not compared the descriptions yet).

#4233 Fuscolachnum sp.

Apothecia cupulate, stipitate, disc to 300 mk in diameter, near 150 mk high; outer surface of receptacle brownish, hairy, stipe dark brown, hymenium gray, edge with long hairs.

Hairs cylindrical, some narrowed to obtuse tip, rough, brown, segmented, 80–112x 4–6; asci clavate, with crozier, with small euamyoid pore, 23.7–37.3 x 4.2–6.2; paraphyses lanceolate, some exceeding the asci, segmented in lower part, with vacuoles, about 54 x 3.2 (width at larger part); spores pip-shaped, 5.4 (5–6.5) x 2 (1.7–2.2) (n=12).?

Re : Fuscolachnum from Ledum
Thanks, Stip and Guy.

I will look further in literature, and later will comment here about comparisons or results. Another collection from leaves of Chamaedaphne was collected yesterday, which is similar to last-year collected on Sphagnum ball. So, all these specimens would be interesting to find out.

Nina.
