Anthostomella?
Marja Pennanen, 08-04-2014 17:08
Hello forum,

I have collected this last year.
These grow on Picea abies debris, mostly on needles and are about 0,7-1mm wide.
The spores are about 16-22x5-8 and seems to have some kind of hyaline appendages.
I saw no asci, suppose, that these are quite mature.

The determination trials ended to Anthostomelle genus.
Can this be a species in that genus and if so what?
I have found no Anthostomellas ealier...

Re : Anthostomella?
How about Rosellinia thelena - should have rather long and very pointy appendages. It likes Picea litter.

cheers

Hi Thomas,

you must be right.
I'm very poor with these black ones. The species seems to be LC in Finland.
New species and genus for me anyway :D

Re : Anthostomella?

Hi Marja and Thomas, nordic friends,

It would be a good thing to see asci and ascospores in good conditions. Perhaps R. mycophila is not excluded ? (what do you think Thomas ?) But t seems to have the appendages of R. thelena.

Please Marja, show us appendages.

Alain

Re : Anthostomella?
Yes, based on the illustration I cannot exclude mycophila but, at least here in Denmark, I mostly get it with Abies. Spores in good condition and asci likewise makes life easier :-)
