Phyllactinia/Ovulariopsis in Bombacopsis quinata in Panama
Esquivel-Rios Eduardo, 10-09-2012 21:26
Hi all.

Bombacopsis quinata is a native timber specie in America Tropics, in Brasil some years ago, a mildew
cause damage in commercial plantations. and was identified as  Leveillula taurica (Lev.) Am. (Erysiphaceae), but the perfect form no found. In 2011, in Panama, i found the mildew in Bombacopsis, but the perfect form mixed with the anamorph, and is Phyllactinia, so, the anamorph is Ovulariopsis, not Leveillula. I dont know a Phyllactinia specie here, but the only Phyllactinia reported in Bombacaceae is Phyllactinia chorisae Viegas, more the 100 years ago, in Chorisa, a near specie to Bombacopsis.

If any can help in this research, im grateful
