                this is most likely X. areolata, recently renamed X. alboareolata by Ju & Rogers (2012). However more information about ascopores dimensions, morphology of germ slit and dimensions of apical apparatus are needed for confirmation.
In this species the white flakes on surface are incrusted with minute black carbonaceous granules that are persistent. Also something to check on your specimen.
