Hi there,Since a few weeks I am trying to identify a soil inhabiting, coniochaeta-like pyrenomycete with brown setae covering the whole fruitbody and up to 42x15µm big, black spores with a conspicuous germ slit and without any gel coat. IKI negativ, spores uniseriate and asci unitunicate.
Perithecia up to 1mm broad, ostiolate, black.
With this characteristics, it seems to be clear that this fungus is placed in Coniochaetales, Coniochaetaceae. But all genera I have checked do not have species with such big spores. Perhaps there is anyone who has already seen this curious thing.
regards,
björn

Re : Coniochaeta-like on sandy soil
we have a rather similar species on "soil" in a limestone pit in southern Sweden. We have failed to find a name for it. I haven't got the details at hand but the main characteristic was huge spores

Hello,
I'm trying to find out if you've finally determined which species it is.

Gao
