Lasiobolus macrotrichus?
hannie wijers, 19-01-2014 13:56

On the dung of deer I found two hairy frb. The hairs were very long, the measure of them were between 636-759 µm. The measure of psores were 22-24x8-9 µm. I found a key at Ascofrance and when I read this  think it could be Lasiobolus macrotrichus?

Does anyone have an idea about it?

Thanks Hannie

Hi Hannie and Michel,
by us in Germany, Thuringia, Distrikt Sonneberg a common coprophilous fungus on dung of deer and stalg, rare on lepus, sheep and wild pig. Here some macrophotos. The last is schwmming in water and coloured with Congo red.
Greetings Peter.

Re : Lasiobolus macrotrichus?

Hello Hannie,

L. macrotrichus also has an alba version and it also has two types of setae.
Both setae have thick walls but they differ in length and width; 418-537x37.5-39.5 um with 3 um wall for the rounded top and 604-706x34-34.5 um with 4 um wall for the sharp top.
