Alan RockefellerYesterday I found this on a hardwood log in a cloud forest in Veracruz, Mexico.   Spores are 30 x 5 µm.

What could it be???

Yes, I agree. The asci should have a thin amyloid apical ring and arise from simple septa.

Typical are the polar gel caps on the spores (visible also on your photo).
