Tiny discs on a Betula leaf
Marja Pennanen, 02-10-2014 10:20
Hi all,

I found these accidently an a leaf with some myxos.
They are tiny and almoust hyaline.
I attach here a photo of them evenif I shouldn't. There is only some shining of them.
The asci are about 30-40x6-7 and may be very, very weakly  IKI blue.
The spores are about 5-7x2-3. I saw no paraphyses.
I should adjust the whitebalance...

No knowledge of something like this, hopefully someone here can help me.

Hi Marja

you must look at the margin. Perhaps it is a Mollisina??

Dear Zotto,

There were roundish cells on the base, I will check the margin later, must go now.

Hi,

I tried to study  these some more. They are not easy being so tiny and still you got to get them off the leaf.
Almoust ruined the specimen, but still found no marginal hairs. The fruitbodies went uppside down and that did not make my trials easier.
