Hysteropatella?
Nick Aplin, 11-05-2015 02:42

Salut à tous,

I found these apothecia on weathered Malus bark 5ft from the ground 8/5/2015. They measure up to 0.8mm.

Ascospores 14.3 - 19 x 5.3 - 5.8, 3-septate

Asci bitunicate (?)

My specimen seems a reasonable fit for H.prostii, though the ascospores seem just a little different (particularly in guttulation) to the ones presented here:

This is a group I'm not really familiar with.....Can anyone please confirm?

Amitiés,

Nick

Re : Hysteropatellaria?
Hi Nick, this is very clearly Hysteropatella (!) prostii.

I measured, for example, *15-20 x 6-6.4 µm. Oil drops are generally a few small, rarely a larger one. Yes, asci are bitunicate.

Here an example.

Thanks Zotto!

Managed to correct my spelling error in the title of this thread, too :)
