Flattened linear pseudothecia on stems of Sedum rosea

This fungus was growing on dead stems of Sedum (Rhodiola) rosea.

It has superficial linear ascomata, < ca 1 mm long and 100 µm wide, opening by a longitudinal slit. Ascomata are strongly flattened, with opaque, obscure cells and an entire margin.


Asci are bitunicate; 8-spored; ca 35-40 x 10-15 µm.


Pseudoparaphyses are slightly sinuous and branched.


Spores are hyaline (old spores pale brown); ellipsoid with rounded apices; 14-17 x 5-6 µm; 3-septate, markedly constricted at septa; widest at the second cell from the apex; mostly with one large oil body in each cell; with a wide gelatinous sheath.


I'd be grateful for any ideas on identification.
