Thyronectria chrysogramma?
M Jonathan, 28-12-2015 05:24
M Jonathan
Collected 24 december 2015, on Ulmus americanus bark in Ottawa ontario.

the Perithecia show stricking yellowish coloration.

The asci seem to be bitunicate, do not react in melzer and bear 8 spores, the spore measure 28-31u*10-12. The spores contain several (up to 9-10) horizontal septum and 1-2(3?) vertical septum.

Seem to be promising for T chrysogramma, however I can't find pictures to compare.

I have the specimens in case anyone is interested in them

Regards

Jonathan M

Re : Thyronectria chrysogramma?
Hi Jonathan,

here is a paper by Jaklitsch & Voglmayr which includes photos of T. chrysogramma as well as further literature on that species and a key to the genus: tps://www.researchgate.net/publication/270283146_Persistent_hamathecial_threads_in_the_Nectriaceae_Hypocreales_Thyronectria_revisited_and_re-instated

Best wishes,
Gernot

Thank you, I lookedat that paper and somehow missed those pictures, The ressemblance are striking, I think it is the good identification, even if my specimens are not in groups like those species tend to be.
