An important new book
Michel Hairaud, 11-04-2026 10:10
Michel HairaudDear Ascofrance members, here is some very good news !
Ascomycete.org will publish this year the first volume of a series of books titled Pezizomycetes of Europe.
Edited by Nicolas Van Vooren, with contributions from specialists from several countries, this original series will present and illustrate a total of more than 530 species and nearly 140 genera (including identification keys). Each volume will consist of approximately 500 pages. This series will thus constitute the most comprehensive reference to date on the Pezizomycetes recorded in Europe. The first volume will be devoted primarily to families with amyloid asci (Pezizationeae, Ascobolaceae).

To make it accessible to as many people as possible, the book will be published in multiple languages, and a special subscription offer will be announced this summer of 2026.

In the meantime, you can already take full advantage of the services offered by Ascomycete.org : an online journal (to which 270 authors have already contributed), training courses, publications, the Ascofrance forum and database, and more.

Now is the perfect time to show your support for advancing and sharing knowledge in the vital and fascinating field of ascomycetes. Ascomycete.org does deserve your support !

Though financialy modest, your membership will constitute a precious energy

Best regards to all,
on behalf of Ascomycete.org, Michel Hairaud, President.
