Lasiosphaeria stuppea?
hannie wijers, 12-01-2016 18:52
Hello, I liked some help. On a branch (I dont know which because There is a bunch of branches) I found this hairy one, just one frb. I think of Lasiosphaeria. Could these be one of the Lasiosphaeria stuppea complex?  I saw the topic of Gernot Friebes and read the article of Andrwe Miller. Measure of the spores are between 30 - 36 x 8 µm and with Melzer J-. Can someone help me with this one?
Thanks a lot,
Sincerely
Hannie

Hi Hannie,
you probably noticed in the 2014 paper on Lasiospheria that H. stuppea is suspected to be a complex of closely related species and the species concept should be based on material from the original collection region in the US.
Your fungus might well be related to this complex, thus you need to find it again with hoe it can be sequenced by Andrew.
Good luck!

Re : Lasiosphaeria stuppea?
Jacques, I don't understand the last sentence. Do you mean That if I find this Lasiosphaeria again I ask Andrew To take a look for it?

Re : Lasiosphaeria stuppea?
sorry for the typo.
What I meant is that if you find again this fungus you might approach Andrew in case he is interested in sequencing it. You need fairly abundant material to make the DNA extraction possible.

Re : Lasiosphaeria stuppea?

I already observed ascospores with 2 septa (on Populus, 6-1-2014).

Perhaps a feature for this european H. stuppea-like species.

Re : Lasiosphaeria stuppea?
Thanks Jacques and Alain. I'll watch and keep it in my mind. Unfortenately I just found one. The branch could have been Populus. At this place there is a lot of twigs and brachea of all kinds of trees, Ik like to look overthere because there are a lot of ascomyceten on it.
Is there a page where I can have a look at yours Alain.
