small black disco
Masanori Kutsuna, 20-01-2016 07:02
Hello, everyone

Last week, I found small black disco on wood of Quercus serrata, Japan.

Disc: 0.5-1.5 mm, flat, black, sessile.
Asci: 65-74 x 6.2-7.4, biseriate, I+ without KOH pretreatment.
Ascospores: ellipsoid to ovoid, 6.8-9.4 x 2.8-3.4, hyaline, aseptate (overmature 1-septate?).
Paraphyses: 1-1.5, tip swollen to 3, with brownish amorphous matter.
Excipulum textura angularis, reddish (intercellular pigment?)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re : small black disco
Hmm, this reminds me a bit of Patinella hyalophaea, but the amyloid asci and larger spores exclude it.

Thank you for your comment, Zotto.

First, I think it Patinellaria sanguinea, but my disco has no reddish subiculum ...
