Joop van der Lee

Found on rabbit dung.

Fruitbody: 248x182 um.
Asci: Not observed because they easily collapse and only the top remains.
Spores: 63.9-68.3x10.2-12.2 um;containing a de Berry Bubble; end cells rounded;
each cell of the spore is surrounded by a gelatinous sheath (photo-3)
Spores als slightly bended and when stretched it sometimes show a V-shaped open stace.
Germ slit wavy, oblique to diagonal, hardly visible because of the dark brown coloured cells.

Re : Sporormiella megalospora?
No, this is not Sporormiella megalospora, Joop!
This is a typical Sporormiella teretispora.
The spore size fits very well with this species.
S. megalospora has clearly larger ascospores.

Have also a look to the asci.
They should have a very short stipe.

Re : Sporormiella megalospora?

Vielen dank Norbert.

I will look for the asci, I do have enough pseudothecia stored.
What I have never seen with Sporormiella is that each cell of the spore produced its own sheath instead of a complete gelatinous sheath around the spore. On the photo they clearly overlap each other.
At the same time I noticed that the germ slit, although not clearly visible, is flexuous and strongly oblique to diagonal instead of oblique to nearly parallel what it should be as stated in the documention of Doveri and Cain.
