Joop van der LeeFound on rabbit dung.

No clear photo of the perithecia, this was completely embedded in the dung, no neck only a hole was visible.
No asci found.
Spores: 31.2-38.5x18.9-22.9 um, two cauda with a length of 41-61 um and a width at the base of 8.3-10.2 um.

Re : Unknown arnium
Hello Joop,

it is difficult to say something without knowledge of perithecium and asci.
The usually inequilateral spores with gelatinous caudae arranged at the flattend side are typical for Arnium cervinum. Also the spore size fits very well.
I find this species mostly on cervine dung, but also on hare. Why not rabbit?

Closely is A. caballinum with larger ascospores and longitudinally striate caudae.

Regards
Norbert
