Ascobolus question
Chris Yeates, 13-04-2016 20:36
Chris YeatesBonsoir tous
this pale lemon-yellow Ascobolus has appeared on incubated cattle dung. Apothecium shape is not cup-shaped, but more like a truncated triangle, broadly attached at the base; apo's to 1.4mm diameter. The spore patterning shows relatively few, irregular cracks and I am wondering about Ascobolus michaudii. The spore size is apparently towards the high end for that species, although the measurements given in the protologue, in van Brummelem, in Richardson & Watling and in Doveri do vary quite a lot.
Any help/comments would be very welcome.
Cordialement
Chris
