Color of fungi : green & black.
This needle on top of Fagus stump and then covered with thick layer of moss. There for many years.

This must be a Coccomyces. Look for the nice spores (but please in pure water).

I was wondering if it was a Coccomyces, Pseudophacidium, Phacidium, or what.  It would be nice to see microscopic images of this fungus, it's great to see them coming out in the spring.
