Ralf Dahlheuser, 24-01-2019 15:36
Ralf DahlheuserHello everybody,

maybe someone can help. These Cleistothecies grows on Rabbit dung, together with Melanospora brevirostris.
Fruitbodys different in size, from 80 - 220 µm. First white, later greenish and black-brown when mature.
Asci globose to subglobose, 16,0 -18,0 µm
Spores transluscent at first, greenish-brown when mature, 7,0-8,0 µm
IKI- in all parts

I have no idea.

Hello Ralf.

I think your mushroom is related to Microascace, maybe Lophotricus or Pithoascus. Sorry, I do not have much documentation on this group.

Michel.

This might be Melanocarpus coprophilus Valldosera & Guarro. It was originally described from rabbit dung in Spain.

Hello Michel, Hello David,

thank you for your help.

David, M. coprophilus is a very good tip. I will check that.

Re : Unknown ascomycet on rabbit dung
Unfortunately, my literature is not enough to finally determine the species. Does anyone have literature about Melanocarpus coprophilus?
