I would be grateful, if anyone could let me have a copy of Maragaret Barr's paper on the Melanommatales, as ever, I am 'stuck' and I am hoping that this might provide an answer to the identity of what I think is a Melanomma.
With many thanks,
Simon

Check your email boxes. I would recommend to check also Holm's paper "Études taxonomiques sur les Pléosporacées." Symbolae Botanicae Upsalienses 14: 1-188).
However, identification of Melanomma-species (except may be M. pulvis-pyrius) is extremely difficult because there are quite a few species in unrelated bitunicate genera with similar brownish, three-septate spores: see the paper
Jaklitsch, W.M. & H. Voglmayr (2016) Hidden diversity in Thyridaria and a new circumscription of the Thyridariaceae. Studies in Mycology 85: 35-64
(see download link in tab "Artikelen" at https://www.verspreidingsatlas.nl/0721020#).
Cheers Eduard

That is very kind of you Eduard. I hope I can make best use of it. I appreciate that there is a problem with being certain that it is a Melanomma. I know M. pulvis pyris, but that is as far as I go. The material I have is very immersed, with just the top of the neck emergent. There are few species in UK, with more than two or three records. Unfortunately, it does not quite match M. fuscidulum, which is the other, commonly recorded species. I will have another go, in the light of the literature, but I may well be on the wrong genus!
