Helvella macropus?
Lepista Zacarias, 23-02-2021 02:05
Dear all,

I would like to know the correct identification for this Helvella "macropus like" found in a barrier bordering a field road, among moss.
I attach some photos and the dimensions of the spores found:

(15.8) 16.9 - 19.6 (21.1) × (9.8) 10.1 - 11.9 (12.1) µm
Q = (1.5) 1.6 - 1.7 (1.8) ; N = 26
Me = 18.2 × 11 µm ; Qe = 1.7

Thanks in advance,
zaca

Re : Helvella macropus?
Such a color, ribbed stipe, apothecia laterally compressed - it looks like H. solitaria.
Greetings. Marek

Re : Helvella macropus?
Surely not H. macropus, the only rapidly easily microscopically determinable Helvella, with its (sub) fusiform and not ellipsoid spores.
Best, Lothar

Re : Helvella macropus?
My Dears Marek and Lothar,
Thanks for the determination and comments. It seems that I got unused to observe Helvella spp..Looking back, last years were bad in this respect. I have one more to determine, which I will do later on, after the microscopy; If possible, I also would like to have your opinion.
Kind regards,
zaca

Re : Helvella macropus?
Thanks, Nicholas, for the confirmation. Can you please also give a look to the one called "Helvella atra?".
Kind regards from Portugal,
