Bit at a loss: Cyathicula?

Hello,On a small twig of probably Betula there were these cups with short thick stem. Fb small, 1,3 mm, stem 0,4 mm. Brown with ochre hymenium, outside looking fibrillose/hairy. Asci cylindrical, 90-115 x 7-10,5, 8 spored (biserial). Croziers +, IKI +. Cristals (?) at base of quite a few asci. Paraphyses slightly longer than asci, slender without capitate apex. Textura porrecta (I think?), endhyphae brown and very incrustated. Spores allantoid, almost bacilliform: 12,3-14,4-16,6 x 3-3,3-3,6.
Q= 3,7-4,4-5. Very little content within spores, no clear/bigger guttules.
I can't find a match within either Rutstroemia nor Cyathicula (which in the Netherlands they call Crocicreas). Does any of you have an idea? Thanks already!
Maria

Re : Bit at a loss: Cyathicula?
Interesting! This is a member of the Rutstroemia tiliacea group. There is little consense about the species concept and host specificity. Available sequences from different substrates are very similar to each other.
I have a folder which also includes a subfolder Betula, a collection by M.A. Ribes.
Where did you find this? Is it collected from yesterday?

Re : Bit at a loss: Cyathicula?
Thanks for the reply Zotto. My friend found it when we were in an area on clay, at the bank of a sand quarry. Trees there were Betula, Salix and Crataegus. That was last Friday.

If you copy the link you can see it. It is the part left of the little building (left on the image). I can't open the folder alas. Can you tell a little bit more about this or do you have another paper?
Greetings, Maria

My link does not work?
You can try starting here:
Go Ascomycetes illustrations, copy link and go to Ascomycetes.
Helotiales. Not sure if the sorting is after the alphabet.
There is an article about R. punicae. It is Peric & Baral, Mycol. Monten. XX, 2017 (2019): 167-189

Re : Bit at a loss: Cyathicula?
Thanks!! I downloaded and read the article, very interesting!!
As you know I am really an amateur, but from what I read R. punicae comes closest to my find.
So forgive me the following questions:
- Is it possible to already assume that it is R. punicae?
- Would you like me to send material?
If you want me to send material, please mail me the adress on m.plekkenpol@emhg.nl. Then I will send it tomorrow.
Thanks for your time and greetings,
Maria

Re : Bit at a loss: Cyathicula?
I am sorry I have no time for study. But my suggestion is to send a portion for sequencing the ITS. If you do not know anyone, I suggest Kadri Pärtel from Estonia, she might be interested (I can ask her).

Please do and if she is interested I will send it to her.
She can email me her adress then. Thanks for all the help again!
