Francois GuayI found this super tiny hyaline asco on fir needles today in Quebec,Canada. 


Asci 8 spored, dextrinoid tip in IKI

Spores 21,3-24,35 × 6,1-7,75 µm with  up to 3 septa

What a nice fungus! I have nothing in my database on conifer needles with such a spore size.

The IKI reaction is hemiamyloid, not dextrinoid. After KOH you will get a blue reaction.

I have no idea about a genus. The paraphyses seem to exlude Allophylaria.
