Pale Hymenoscyphus on leaf
Juuso Äikäs, 26-10-2025 21:23
Hello,

a couple weeks ago I found some pale, whitish Hymenosyphus fruitbodies growing on a decaying leaf (probably of Acer platanoides).

Asci 8-spored, IKI+(b), croziers+.

Paraphyses narrowly cylindrical, filled with rather low-refracting VBs (maybe not in the best condition?). Ectal excipulum of textura prismatica.

Spores 10.8 - 12.1 × 4.2 - 4.8 µm, Q = 2.3 - 2.8; avg = 11.4 × 4.4 µm, Qav = 2.6; n = 10.

---

Any ideas about the species?

Re : Pale Hymenoscyphus on leaf
Are the apos big? My guess would be H. immutabilis, a species resembling H. imberbis.

Re : Pale Hymenoscyphus on leaf
The apos were something like 2-3 mm wide. There are many findings of it on iNaturalist by Igor Khomenko that appear to match quite well. So, I think this is the solution. Thanks!
