Good evening everyone,First of all, my best wishes for 2026, good health and lots of Asco fun.
Today I found a fungus belonging to the Ascomycota in Ruddervoorde, Belgium. I suspect a species from the genus Thysanophora. The fungus grew among Corticiaceae on a rotten piece of deciduous wood in a wet environment. The piece of wood was covered with a thick pack of fallen leaves.
Anyone who can confirm or correct the genus?
William

Re : Thysanophora?
Good evening William,
my best wishes for 2026 also. This looks to me like a Dematioscypha anamorph (previous called the Haplographium anamorph) , I suppose the wood is white-rotten.
Cheers,
Stip

Re : Thysanophora?
Thanks for your suggestion, Stip!
It looks like your suggestion is indeed correct.
I wasn't aware of this anamorphic stage... learned something new.
The wood was indeed white-rotten.
Thanks,
William
