Re : Encoelia sp.
Hi Pavol

this looks lke Encoelia fascicularis. But I never saw it on Salix, always on Fraxinus or Populus rarely Sorbus. Typical are the crystals and the grey colour. So are you sure with Salix? Was it a branch attached to a living tree?

The spores are a bit too narrow, they should be 12-15 x 3-4 µm. Perhaps you can make a photo with oil immersion? Did you check the asci with IKI?

E. tiliacea I saw once on Salix, but that species has brown apothecia and also rather large spores.

When you spray your fungus with water it will open and look quite different.

Hi Zotto

I am sure with Salix sp. :-) ... branch attached to a living tree. This species is very small an very, very fragile. I saw on Salix Encoelia fascicularis but it was different - more compact.

p.s. I am afraid it is maximum kvality of my microfoto :-(

How large are the apos when rehydrated? Did you place them in water? These here are more dry than wet.

Re : Encoelia sp.
Such a size is in the middle of what I have here: rehydrated 2-5 or 5-7 mm on Fraxinus.
