Peziza ampelina
Pérez Joe, 08-04-2010 19:48
Good afternoon

The CABI is the following account:
Peziza arenaria Osbeck, Vet. Akad. Handl.: 288 (1762) = Peziza ampelina Quél., Grevillea 8(no. 47): 116 (1880) [1879-80]

Is the world in accordance with this proposal?

Best regards

Dear Joe,
I don't know, there is no emending author or reference to a article. Mycobank does not share this opinion

Re:Peziza ampelina

Cordialement

René

PS : Vous trouvez les indications en consultant CABI soit sous : Page Image for protologue ou sous : Page Image in Published List, en dessous du nom de l’espèce concernée.

Re:Peziza ampelina
Merci René, j'ai déjà révisé dans le CABI tes indications correctes. Mais je suis sans entendre comment quelqu'un cite aux deux espèces comme synonymes.
Des saluts

Re:Peziza ampelina

Returning with the same topic of days behind, I have noticed the following thing in the CABI:

Peziza ampelina Quél., Grevillea 8(no. 47): 116 (1880) [1879-80]
Nomenclatural comment:
Nom. illegit., Art. 53.1

Which disconcerts me...

Re:Peziza ampelina
Dear Joe
everything is explained on the CABI page, just follow the links (Page image or Published list) for both Peziza ampelina.

Peziza ampelina Pass., in Rabenhorst, Fungi europ. exsicc.: no. 1706 (1874), existed for 6 years before. Despite it seems to be a synonym of Pyrenopeziza vitis Rehm 1871, it has priority and cannot be used for Quelet's species.
If Peziza arenaria cannot be use like it does not fit the spore criteria, this species has to be renamed.
Cheers
François

Re:Peziza ampelina
Well, all the bibliographic elements have to be verified. At first, Rehm (Die Pilze, 1896, p. 609) uses the name Pyrenopeziza ampelina Passer., in Rabenh., Fungi Europaei exsiccati #1706. So the only reason to invoke the ICBN art. 53.1 would be that the name written on the label of the Fungi Europaei exsiccatum #1706 is "Peziza ampelina". Rabenhorst's collections are deposited in several European herbaria (PC, G, M...), it will be easy to verify.
