Flageloscypha

Miguel Ãngel RibesGood night

I caught this little mushroom, less than 0.5 mm on Echinospartum horridum thinking it was an ascomycete, but the surprise is that it has tetrasporic clavate basidia, ellipsoidal spores, sometimes with a slightly flatter side, hairs with thick walls and covered with large granulations, tapering towards the apex and ending in a long thin flagellum smooth, without granules and sometimes bifurcated.

The spore measures are:
(6.9) 7.4 - 8.6 (8.9) x (3.8) 4.3 - 5.7 (6.1) µm
Q = (1.3) 1.34 - 1.8 (2.1) ; N = 31
Me = 7.9 x 5 µm ; Qe = 1.6

Flageloscypha pilatii have similar hair, but the spores are elongate, almost fusiform. F. orthospora has similar spores but the hairs have thin walls ¿?

Thank you in advance with this no asco.

Maybe these pictures are helpful?

Re:Flageloscypha
Yes, I saw, but Funga Nordica said that F. minutissima has 2-spored basidia, pip-shaped to citriform spores, thin-walled hairs and ¿easily collapsing at base?

Thank you Pierre

I have see that Agerer (1975) described some Flagelloscypha. Anyone has this paper?

Sydowia 27(1-6): 211 (1975) [1973-4]

Thank you

Hi Miguel,

here ist the description of F. minutissima by Agerer. He is dicussing there a variant that has basidia with four sterigmata:

Another description with nice drawings:

Cheers,

Martin

Re:Flageloscypha
Thank you Martin, then Flagelloscypha aff. minutissima.

Anyway I would like to review F. orthospora and other Flagelloscypha in Sydowia 27: 131-265 (1975) and Sydowia 35: 5-12 (1979), but I do not have them.

Hi Miguel,

I don't have his article but you will find his description of F. orthospora in MycoBank as well:

Best regards

Hi Miguel,

I corrected the above link. Try Google translator. The translation is not too bad, however, it translates "Lachnella" as "laughter Ella" ;-)
