Imperfect?
Marja Pennanen, 14-01-2011 16:05
Hello folks,

I know, that this webside is about ascomycetes, but I hope people here are not so restricted ;)

This week I found some dark spots on the leaves of Salix. They were about 0,1-0,3 mm wide.
I hoped them to be some ascomycetes, but found no asci.
What I found were spores, 13-18x6-7, 1-3 septate, hyaline turning brown. The end cells could be lighter.

Greetings from winterwonderland: Marja

Hi Marja,
it would be necessary to see a macrophoto and a vertical section through conidiomata.
Finaly, could you send us a detailed photo of conidia? maybe your fungus is a Camarosporium but without microscopical data it's impossible to say.
Regards,
Christian

Re:Imperfect?
Dear Christian,

thank you :)
I know very little of imperfect fungi. I find them few times a year and think, that they are interesting.
Here's a poor macrophoto. I should have marked the fungi, because I almoust missed them ;)

I may try to make a section later, but don't expect any success with my lacking skills and poor equipment.
