Pleospora and Phaeosphaeria (?) on Hemerocallis fulva
Björn Wergen, 14-03-2011 18:35
Björn WergenHi,

today I looked for some small fungi on Hemerocallis (fulva), perhaps you can tell me what it can be or if I am right with my determination ;)

1. The first one is obviously a Pleospora, I think it is P. phaeocomoides, with spores around 18-21x8-10µm and 1 longitudinal and 5 transverse septa.

2. The second one is perhaps a Phaeosphaeria with spores around 14,5-16x3-3,5µm and Asci 40-60x5-8µm. One central cell is a bit swollen up to 4µm. Spores seem to be smooth.

1. Pleospora cf phaeocomoides

Hi Kazama,
Felicitations, I've never found perfect pyrenos in Hemerocallis fulva.
For the first one, it's OK for P. phaeocomoides.
For the second one, I've no idea for the moment.

Hi Alain,

thank you very much for help. I had some problems to find these pyrenos but I have checked a few preparations and found only one fruitbody of Phaeosphaeria and Pleospora. So it was absolutely random :D

Salut Alain et Kazama.
Y a-t'il un doc récent sur les Pleospora qui ferait le point sur ce genre avec clés et descriptions ?
