Light with filiform spores
Marja Pennanen, 27-03-2011 13:17
Hello folks,

once again I'm in trouble.
I found these tiny (0,1-0,2 mm wide) ones on Syringa and they all can be seen here:

Re:Light with filiform spores
The spores were filiform, propably septate and 32-37x1-1,5. The asci are about 25-38x5-7, no reaction in Lugol. I found one asci, which was spit, so you can see how the spores are twisted inside:

Hi Marja,
are you sure of the size of ascospores and asci?

34 years ago I collected something similar :-) It never got a name. Perhaps a Pseudohelotium? It was on Quercus bark.

But you have smaller asci and spores, and I did not see such broad paraphyses.

Hi Christian,

naturally I'm not 100% sure, but I attach a poor photo in 1000x magnification here.
But I'm sure, that the figures can't be very wrong.

Hi Zotto,

thanks. I'll attach a photo of the margin here.
The asci were kind of glued together as you can see on the left corner.
