In search of Neonectria coccinea-like fungi
Amy Rossman, 29-03-2011 21:31
Dear Ascofrance Folks,

Some years ago Lisa Castlebury and I attempted to sort out the fungi in Fagus in North America including many from Europe. Attached is the paper that resulted. Although we could distinguish Neonectria faginata from true N. coccinea that occurs on beech only in Europe, there were a number of species of Neonectria coccinea-like species that we did not characterize. Dr. Yuuri Hirooka is now starting to work on these fungi. We would welcome fresh specimens of Neonectria from any hosts for Yuuri to include in his study. Please send air-dried specimens to the address below. Thank you!

I have a Neonectria on Fagus... at home. Tomorrow, I'll check it and it will go probably towards USA.
