Dark-haired on Pteridium
Marja Pennanen, 21-06-2011 10:12
Hello,

I found two dark-haired ascos on Pteridium aquilinum?.
The other was Brunnipila clandestina, but the other...
I'm not even sure weather it is a Brunnipila or Pyrenopeziza or something else.

It is almoust sessile, greyish, 0,3-0,5 mm wide and is lighter at margins.
Spores: 10-16x2-3, containing some small droplets.
Asci: 35-53x7-9, IKI blue.
Paraphyses: cylindric, 1-2 wide, seem to contain some droplets.
Hairs: 30-50x3-4, brown or lighter.

Any ideas?

Marja

Maybe Fuscolachnum pteridis? See my card on Ascofrance.

Re : Dark-haired on Pteridium
Thank you very much.
That seems to fit!
May be even new to Finland...
