Hyaloscypha hyalina?

Hello, forum!

Here is a very tiny white disco (fruitbodies 0,05-0,1 mm in diameter) collected on the wood of Populus tremula. Sorry for the bad-quality photo, that's the only I can do with so small fruitbodies.

With best wishes,

Irina

Hi Irina

not ntoo bad! Was the wood exeposed so that it can get dry? I suppose this is Hyaloscypha intacta. typical would be the shor thairs and inamyloid asci. They should be without croziers.

Thank youvery much!

Yes, at the moment the wood is dry.

And yes, asci are without croziers.

Re : Hyaloscypha hyalina?

I've looked in Raitviir's key and also got H. intacta (using Dennis I had H. hyalina).

Re : Hyaloscypha hyalina?
H. intacta is a species (like H. quercicola) that can grow on attached branches which rapidly dry out when it is a dry weather.  Those species that we find on moist wood on the ground have generally amyloid asci. But occasionally the branches fall down and the species stay there for a while. Therefore I was asking how you found it.

Re : Hyaloscypha hyalina?

It was collected on a dead Populus trunk (or maybe on a branch of a great diameter).
