Bluish ascomycota
Edit Szilvásy, 15-07-2012 10:31
Edit SzilvásyDear Forum,

Yesterday I found a small blue-green cups, 0.5 to 0.8 mm in diameter. They were pieces of wood swampy ground. I hope I provide enough information to give me a clue. It is strange that such a small spores were in it,  2 x 1 µm.
It might be a mycobiont?
Thank you in advance.

Dear Edit
not sure if you will receive this message. I took up my paper on Peltigeromyces mollisioides, as I now call this rather rare fungus (placed in folder "7e Ploettnerulaceae aff"). It was variously collected across Europe, but your sample I missed (Viktorie Halasu drew my attention to it).

Could you please tell me the collection data? The apo size was 5-8 mm, yes?

Re : Bluish ascomycota
Dear Zotto,
Sorry, I made a mistake in the description, the size was 0.5-0.8 cm, so it was 5-8 mm.
Collection data: 14/07/2012 Börzsöny hill (422m),  Hungary.
Near Királykút: N 47° 58,781', E 18° 59,615'

Dear Edit
I am sorry I overlooked your answer, and only yesterday I was told by Viktorie about your answer.

Királykút I did not really find, is it close to the Donau river?  Google Earth shows Diósjenö 5.5 km SE of the spot.

The province is difficult to tell because it is just at the border between Nógrád and Komitat Pest.

Do you have any idea about the substrate?

Re : Bluish ascomycota
Dear Zotto,
"Királykút" is a source northwest of Diósjen? 5.5 km.

The substrat was alder.

Thanks a lot! And strange, again I accidentally saw your answer, I did not notice a mail from Ascofrance.
Alnus was already 3x recorded for this species. I assume then that it is Alnus glutinosa, not incana?

Dear Zotto,

Yes, you think it right. It was Alnus glutinosa

Dear Edit

very lately I am about to finish my article about this species of Peltigeromyces. The only information I miss is, whether you have kept a specimen to cite, and if it has a number.

The brown thread on your photos you cannot say what it is?

best wishes

Zotto

Re : Bluish ascomycota
Dear Zotto,

Unfortunately, I didn't keep the mushrooms, only the photos preserve his memory. The brown thread could be a worm, because I lifted the piece of wood from a very swampy area.

I wish you the best: Edit

Re : Bluish ascomycota
Thanks for quick response, no problem.

My guess was rhizomorphs of Armillariella mellea which finally turn black and rarey have been seen with Peltigeromyces. I would not have assumed that it is an animal.
