Pezicula eucrita
Nina Filippova, 31-01-2013 19:55
This specimen seem fits well with description of Pezicula eucrita in Verkley, 1999.

Collected from pine bark, N60,893086° E68,677082°.

Apothecia superficial, sessile, turbinate to thick-discoid, 0,3-0,7 mm wide, 0,3 mm high, disc orangish, receptacle the same color, brownish when overmature, slightly pruinose to torn at the edge.

Excipulum from textura angularis, thick-walled cells to 10 mk wide, with bright yellow content somewhere in tissue, cells becoming more prismatic to the edge; upper part of receptacle covered with 3-4 celled brown hairs, about 40 mk long, and 4 mk broad, end cells clavate; paraphyses cylindrical, branched, with clavate brown ends some exeeding the asci, about 2 mk wide in lower part, and up to 6 mk in upper part, tip with thickened wall, covered by some amorphous incrustation; asci clavate, with obtuse tip, site on broad clamp, 4-spored, with strong amyloid ring around the pore about 3,5 mk, about 102 x 18; spores (larger) ellipsoid, slightly curved, unseptated when in asci, when overmature many septated, some with oblique septa, with several big guttules and abundant small amorphous oil, producing conidia from all cells, 30,4 (27,4-34,8) x 8,4 (7,4-9,8) (12 not germinating spores).

Re : Pezicula eucrita
Yes, undoubtedly. When you use Lugol without KOH then you get a deep red reaction instead of blue. Yours must have been pretreated with KOH.
