Does anyone have any good idea about this mushroom? It grows on maggot or on hooks. I found it from my old hook box where were also some old maggots on the hooks. One Finnish mycologist says that it could be a member of Laboulbeniales. Mushroom on the photo can be old, because it is really fragile. One man on the Facebook said that he has same kind of observation on old hooks with night crawlers and from can with decaying salmon eggs. And I am not sure that it is a mushroom, but can it be something else? Riihimäki, Finland 19.12.2013.
Hello Riihimäki,
Have you any responses yet? From other corners but this forum?
To me the organisms look a (bit ) like Myxozoa ?But, if you have no other responses at your inquiry for this organism,I am willing to look at it.You can send me a bit,if you like !
Best Regards,
Marco
Thanks Marco!
I don´t have any responses. I have sent the picture to many forums, but no one hasn´t answered to this anything good idea. Here in Finland some people have written a book about parasites of fishes. I sent this picture and information to them, but if they said nothing, I can send sample about this mushroom to you.
Thanks and very happy Christmas to you
Hello Riihimäki,
No,I do not think this is a Fish- parasite, because,as far as I know, those fungi belong to the Saprolegniales and that kind,Your fungus does not like an aquatic fungus.
In case you still want my adress, let 's do it more private:send me an e- mail
