I found this interesting yellowish asco growing on
Hi to all
Can you help me, with this scanty information, with these small perithecia growing on copious white subiculum on the stromata of Nemania sp.? I don't know the anamorphic stage neither the structure of the perithecial walls (I like very much my fingers!)
The KOH is negative and the asospore walls have coarsely cianophilic striate walls
Any idea?
Many thanks again
Hi Enrique,
It's absolutely amazing !
It looks like Protocreopsis, doesn't it ?
But Protocreopsis species are generally tropical.
P. pertusa has striate ascospores measuring 13-17 x 4-5 µm.
It's a fungus for specialists.
Alain
Thank you Alain
I have considered Protocreopsis, but as you says it seems to be a tropical genus
I'm waiting for some response of the specialist people
Thanks!

No setae on ascomata ?
Yannick

Protocreopsis is a herbicolous genus, it is not fungicolous. It would be useful to know the thickness of acomatal wall because the only genus that could match is Nectriopsis. Nectriopsis has thinner ascomatal wall that Protocreopsis, it is an important characteristic.
Enrique, to know thickness of ascomatal wall the section does not need to be very thin.
Regards,
Christian

this specimen is confusing... it is not Nectriopsis, I think it is maybe the genus Stilbocrea.
I must cultivate and sequence it to know where the molecular data place this species.
Could you please to send me a part of your collection?
All the best,
Christian
OK., Christian
I'll send you it
Thanks
Hi Christian, hi to all
Today I have collected again this fungus growing on wood but this time with unknow relations. Have you new notices for it?
Thanks in advance
