Chaetosphaeria? on polypores
Marja Pennanen, 10-02-2014 09:50
Hello forum,

I have listed my specimens and determined some indets.
Within a myxo specimen I noticed some tiny pyrenos.
They were something like 0,1-0,2 mm wide, black and hairy.
The spores are about 12-15x4-5 and hairs 70-100x4-5.

Could this be Chaetosphaeria fusispora?

Hi Marja,

Chaetosphaerella, and not Chaetosphaeria which is very different.

It fits quite well with C. fusispora. But the substrate is surprising.

Have you precicions about setae ?

Alain

Dear Alain,

I have one poor photo of the hairs.
I can try to examine another, but they are quite demanding because of the size.

My determination is based on Danish pyrenomycetes, 1957, which may not be very up-to-date...

Re : Chaetosphaeria? on polypores
Thank you!

The tree under the polypore was a dead Picea abies lying on the ground.

If I have some luck, I have picked something new for Finland.
I decided to learn at least one new pyreno/month for a couple of years ago.
Shame on me, I have not done that...

Hi,

I got another determination here: Ascocodinaea polyporicola.
It is a pitty, that there were no asci on my preparate.
I'll check another later.
