Hi there,a few weeks ago I received a collection of a nectrioid species growing on dead Alnus viridis bark. It has small orange fruitbodies of 0,25-0,32mm diametre and Spores of only 2,8-3,4x2,5-3µm, with one septation. Asci 40-50x3,5-5µm, no paraphyses seen. Wall 30-40µm. Does it belong to the genus Cosmospora? I did not see a species like this one before...
Ideas are welcome, of course :D
regards,
björn

Lieber Björn, Solche interessante Funde sollten in Kultur genommen werden. Könnte ich evt. versorgen. Kennst Du die Arbeit von Gräfenhan et al., Stud. Mycol. 69: 79. 2011? Freii im Inteent abzurufen.
Herzlichen Gruß Walter

Hi Walter,
I bet you mean SM 68: p79? Of course I have read it, but I am not sure how to use it here. Do you want to have sent this collection?
regards,
björn

Re : Cosmospora sp?
Hi Björn, Thank you for the material. I could not find any nectrioid perithecia on the specimen, only the acremonium-like anamorph of your Cosmospora. Unfortunately, I did not get it to grow. Perhaps you have still other material?. Where did it come from?. I gather you do not have Alnus viriidis in the Eifel? For more discussion I suggest direct e-mail contact.
