Coccomyces? on Vaccinium
Marja Pennanen, 02-08-2014 11:25
Hello forum,

when these black spots open, they show their yellow hymenium.
They grow on Vaccinium uliginosum leaves and are a bit under 1 mm wide.
The spores are about 65-85x2-3, asci 140-160x12-13 and paraphyses about 4 micrometers wide.

Once again my litterature does not contain a species with these properties or the species is not a Coccomyces at all.

Re : Coccomyces? on Vaccinium
Probably Coccomyces leptideus (Fr.) B. Erikss.
Asci should be mostly 4-spored.

Re : Coccomyces? on Vaccinium
Dear Bernard,

thank you for your answer.

I have found C. leptideus on Vaccinium myrtillus stems.
In my memories it is light grey.
Because of the substrate and colour I doupted to do that determination.
