Long-necked pyreno with red top
Björn Nordén, 08-12-2014 15:46
This pyrenomycete was found on Ulmus in Norway and has small black perithecia with a very long neck. Sometimes 2-3 necks from the same perithecium. The tops are clearly red. The asci are unitunicate and has 8 two-celled, brown, ellipsoid spores with a very marked ornamentation (net-forming striation), 8-10 x 4,0-5,5 mym. I have checked among Melanospora and Klasterskya but it does not seem to belong in these genera. Since the material is scanty, I did not want to make a preparation for microphotos. I hope someone has an idea!

Best regards

Björn
