Hello,
another one which puzzles me.
Macroscopically I thought of an Olla species, because the apothecia were very small and more or less urceolate. But under the dissecting microscope it showed that the hairs were protruding from the excipulum, a little bit similar to Urceolella crispa.
But microscopically it was evident that the hairs are quite inconspicous. Mostly three celled, hyalin, somewhat laceolate (see foto)
Asci with croziers, IKI bb 3
Spores cylindrical, approx. 9-11 x 3-3,2 µm, without oil content.
Interestingly the excipulum contained many granules which stained amyloid in Barals solution!
Found at the cut surface of a lying Fagus stem.
thank you and best regards,
Andreas
This blue-blackish reaction in IKI is often seen in Hyaloscypha. An option for your fungus is H. albohyalina. How are the paraphyses?
Best regards,
Raúl
Dear Raúl,
thank you for your opinion.
I don't think that it is a Hyaloscypha species, because the hairs don't fit this genus at all, and the spores are completely without oil content. Also all these excipulum cells with a big round bubble inside I have never seen in Hyaloscypha.
best regards,
Andreas
The iodine reaction I don't know.
The species was recently redescribed based partly on my species concept:

Zotto
Dear Zotto,
thank you very much, I will look in this direction.
I don't have a macro picture because it was too small and when I came home with it it was already dreid out after a few minutes. I should have taken a foto first ....
best regards,
Andreas
