Lichenopeltella ?
Garcia Susana, 20-10-2015 11:34
Hello

I found this ascomiceto growing on a branch covered with I assume is a lichen. I think it belongs to the Microthyriaceae and within them Trichothyriaceae. Can be Lichenopeltella? I have no documentation of the genre.
Anyone recognize the species?

Thanks, a greeting
Susana

Re : Lichenopeltella ?
Hi Susana,
It really seems looks like a Lichenopeltella. There are more than 20 species growing on lichens of that genus but I do not recognize yours in the photo: Pertusaria?. I do not know. Furthermore, many of them grow on macrolichens, more rarely on those crustaceous ones.

Re : Lichenopeltella ?
Hola Susana,
currently this fungus is named Pachythyrium parasiticum. Your approximation to the ID is impressive, as it may belong to this genus. I have found it particularly on Eutypa spp., but my last collection dates from 2000. Also in your specimen the host is probably a diatrypaceous fungus. This was also posted by Peter Thompson in this forum. If you want you can send me a part for culturing.
Saludos cordiales, Walter

Re : Lichenopeltella ?
Hola Javier:

Susana
